Poppers and Cum

As it turned out, the internet wasn't completely down. All she ever uses is her tablet, and it would seem the OS has been updated and the tablet is too old. Argh.

**************************************

"Hi. First let me say thank you for your BWA blog. My first go to since AOM died.

A bit of background. I am a 68 y o man, and have been having gay sex since I was 22. I have also had a couple to hetero relationships, but I have been single now for 4 years.
I love to jo to porn and have been doing more p*ppers over the past 2 years. No blue pills.
The last 2-3 months I find that although I can still have a wonderful climax, I seldomly cum anymore. I luv cumming!!
So my question is, are the p*ppers having a negative effect on my system, or is really just about aging.?
I like to get some feedback from other elderly guys too, but I would love your comments.
Cheers -- E"

Thanks for reading! (AOM used to be my first stop each morning, too.) Age is certainly a factor in lowering the volume. But I can't can't find anything to indicate that poppers reduce the volume of ejaculate. Some users have actually reported an increase. For most men, when we cum, the volume and the velocity are the two things that combine to make our orgasms feel incredible. The stronger the orgasm, the more satisfying; the more we cum, the better it feels.

There are a couple of things which help us increase volume. Longer periods of arousal helps - so edging for an entire day could assist you. Heightened arousal also plays a part. So, the harder the cock and the longer you remain in that heightened state before you cum, the better.

However, poppers can and do have a negative effect on the body - especially if mixed with other drugs, regardless whether those are prescription or OTC. According to the article "What are poppers and are they safe" at Medical News Today long-term use can be detrimental.

I'm going to suggest you give up the poppers and see what transpires. With any amount of luck, the ability to ejaculate may return.

If it doesn't, you may want to consult a urologist.

Readers:

Anyone have experience with age and poppers? Any other advice?

Many older men, including me, take medication for enlarged prostate. One drug in particular, finasteride, can make many who take it stop ejaculating. It does not interfere with the orgasm itself. You just shoot "dry."

What a good post! I have to admit, I do use poppers every so often when I do long edge sessions. I love the feeling of how hard my cock gets, harder then usual... and I enjoy the rush, but I limit the use to only a few times a year, or when they Lad or Warbucks are around, and I might have multiple anal sex in a night. The Lad loves the feeling of my cock when it's even more rigid. But I know enough to limit their use. I have no need to get my cock that hard on a daily basis.

I have experience with age, but not with poppers. :-)

About forty years ago a friend of mine tried to snort poppers. That had such an effect on him that he he found himself rubbing his cheek lovingly against a cactus that was in a pot on the table, and I don't know why but it definitely took away any urge to do the same thing.

Hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.

For me, experience gets better with age, lol 😜

In all honesty, I'm against poppers & other drugs. In short, I don't see a point in them, but hey, each to their own 🤷‍♂️

Hey, Big
Your reader may want to take age into account and also drink more liquids. Just in case. And there's been a huge brouhaha with poppers lately, no?

XOXO

I have the same problem with iPhone and iPad, that I will need to update soon... 2 perfectly good devices made obsolete. No poppers for me. Hugs and Bisous, and happy weekend.

I got habituated to poppers when I was in my 30's so that my whole sexual response was dampened. As I remember (this was 45 years ago...) it took months for normal function to return after I quit using them. Now, I've trained my body to do multiple dry orgasms and euaculating is difficult. Also recovering from Lupron treatment to eliminate testosterone during prostate cancer therapy and just starting to shoot again. But I'd agree that quitting poppers is a very good idea. In my aging process I discovered that the refractory period after each ejaculation lasted for days without desire for bating - which is why I learned the multiple dry orgasm technique. Google EroticEngineering for some training videos. Also, my tantra teacher said is was common wisdom in India to practice semen retention as you age - and try and avoid ejaculation entirely at your age.

@ Six - There has been, indeed. The medical establishment is railing against them once again. One article I read, each time medicine warns against them and availability gets cut, the manufacturers change the mixture "just enough" to be allowed to put them back on the market. You know, kind of like the tobacco industry. XOXO

@ Mistress - Well, there you go. Though, you may want to cut the use completely as you get (ahem) older. 😘

@ MFP - Oh, my.... Good thing he didn't try rubbing his cock against that cactus. Hugs and bisous.

@ Jean - No poppers for me, either. New tablet has arrived and wouldn't you know it...the old one suddenly connected. Oh, fer.... Now she wants me to return that and buy her an ice cream maker. That could be down right dangerous. Hugs and bisous.

@ Wallis @ Fullmoonma - Dry shooting just doesn't feel good to me. It doesn't feel "complete." Not to confuse it with multi-orgasmic where I can feel an intense orgasm several times before finally shooting the load.

I can't comment on poppers as i've never used them.

But i can relate to this poster's question as i am now very nearly age 70 myself, and a few years ago noticed that my climaxes are still strong but the amount of cum was steadily becoming less and less. I remember some time ago my doctor told me that my prostate gland is quite a small, and, of course that is where most of the ejaculate is produced from. So for me it's probably age-related that nothing now "spurts out" but there is a small amount of liquid still being produced (which i make sure to milk from my penis afterwards, so that i don't have it dribbling out later).

Re. Tantric, YES, i have found that two or three "play" sessions keeping my cock at the level of being "nearly there" but not ejaculating for 20-30 minutes does help. Then i find the eventual climax is so much better when i finally take it all the way to a satisfying conclusion.

If I remember correctly, poppers relax smooth muscle. Ejaculation is a result of certain muscles contracting to close off the pathway from prostate and associated tissues to the bladder. I'm wondering if extended popper use has affected that muscle resulting in retrograde ejaculation into the bladder for the OP. One way to tell is if urinating after an orgasm from an almost empty bladder, the urine is cloudy or otherwise dilute semen-like.

I understand the prostate usually grows larger with age, which can be a problem itself, so am not sure about a corresponding reduction in ejaculate with age.

Finasteride interferes with testosterone, so can have side effects that reduce some male characteristics (except it improves hair growth).

I am 81 years old, had a prostatectomy years ago (Good thing too, otherwise I would be dead). I still have climaxes, but no ejaculation. The climaxes are as powerful and satisfying as ever, but with the removal of the Prostate, which supplies most of the ejaculate, there is no cum to speak of. I accept this situation, would rather I had the powerful erections, and blasts of cum from my youth, but the reality is what it is. And I am happy that I still climax. Mind you, I have to work at is, assisted with some stimulating porn. But thanks for opening up this discussion . Yes, there is sex after sixty, ( seventy, eighty) and it can be good. My advise to anyone, have lots of sex now, in any way you like it, build up a store of memories to stimulate you when it all slows down. A regular follower of BWA. Julle Sydney

74 now, orgasm is still great but I sure don't spurt like 40-50 years ago! I still get a little volume but not what it used to be. I am healthy, no poppers, so I imagine it is just natural aging.

p*pp*r doesn't work for me. It doesn't add any further pleasure!
